I must of been a good girl....

Cause Santa brought me some GOOD stuff!! I had, probably THE best Christmas EVER. Better than my childhood ones, better than the Christmas' spent in the Caribbean. It was awesome. It all began after Thanksgiving. (We hosted a Thanksgiving and had friends over.) Boo and I had put up the tree, decorated it, and started getting our Christmas card list started. We even started listening to Christmas music. Through out December we really had the Christmas spirit going. The week before Christmas was crazy, we had two movie previews to catch (True Grit and Black Swan, both really good.) A Christmas Concert at one of Boo's Coworkers' church. Then we had two Christmas parties to attend. Friday, one of my friends, and Saturday one of Boo's friends. We were hardly home all week!
Christmas finally arrived. Santa had left me stuff I've always wanted. I can't remember any Christmas where I actually got stuff I really, truly wanted! I was that kid that was always too shy and afraid to ask for what I really wanted, so I never got what I really wanted. No one's fault but my own, and I'm still that kid, but somehow Boo listened to me talk incessantly about the things I wanted over the year and he told Santa exactly what to get me. I can't believe Boo actually listened to me. haha! I now know exactly how a little kid feels when they get exactly what they want for Christmas. HAPPY!!! EXCITED!!! LOVED!!!

Ok...Here's what I got...

The new Snowpeak Giga Powered Litmax Titanium 1.9 oz backpacking stove with the serated edge!! (wow... that sounded alot like a Ralphy from Christmas Story asking Santa for an "official Red Ryder Carbine-Action, two hundred shot range model air rifle!" haha!) I was drooling over this stove last April during Trail Magic in GA when Sunny (who tests outdoor gear before it comes out to the retail market) pulled it out of her goody bag to show us the new 2010 model backpacking stoves. Santa brought me the perfect stove with the serated edges, not the one with the prongs. Just like I wanted!
I got a Buff, which I've been wanting to warm my neck and keep my hair back for years! and Santa brought me a black one, not one of those weird patterned/tie dyed ones! He knew exactly the one I would like and want!

I got an awesome Snowpeak Trek 700 Titanium backpacking mug that is great for cooking. This would of been an amazing gift if I already didn't have the Evernew Titanium 700 Ultra Light mug, which I love, love, love. Seriously, I felt like being greedy and keeping both, but decided to return the snowpeak for more future gear. Santa brought me something I really liked. I liked so much I bought myself the equivalant back in April. Thanks Santa, and your return will yield more things that I really want!

A couple of Wigwam Fusion outdoor socks for hiking. For those who hike, you know what quality socks can do for your feet and how important good socks are in making your trip an enjoyable one. Seriously, try backing 60 miles in some cotton socks, bet you won't get but 6 miles til your feet hurt b/c of some bad blisters. haha! So these pricey socks are definately worth it. Thanks Santa, for thinking about the comfort of my feet on my trips!
A new 32oz Purple Nalgene from REI . YEAH! I usually take two with me when I plan a trip into the woods. Thanks Santa. Boo says now I can stop using green nalgene :)

A warm fleece Earhat Flap hat from REI to keep me warm in the winter months! Too cute! Thanks Santa, for thinking of how cold my noggin and ears get at night in the hammock.
and finally....

A Garmin Forerunner 405 watch. OMG!! This thing is the most awesomest gadget I've ever gotten! This watch will monitor my time, distance, pace, heart rate, GPS track me, and wirelessly tranfer my data onto my laptop so I can check out the progress of my runs and chart it out. Cool huh! Santa, thanks for watching me slogging away for the past 5 months. I really really love this gift.
Thanks so much Santa! I love all my gifts and like I said, best Christmas EVER! Special thanks to Boo, but listening to me obsessively talk about backpacking gear, then taking notes, and telling Santa what I wanted. You are the best. Love you!

Post C25k

So since finishing the Couch to 5k program, I've started the 1 hour running program and I am amazed to say that I'm still running and guess what??? It's getting easier and easier and easier. Who would of thunk it! haha! Seriously, I'm up to running 41 minutes and still plugging along. I have to admit, I run 3 times a week, usually a short 30 minute run (look at me saying 30 minute is short! I remember when 30 minute was the goal! haha!) then a longer run for my second, usually around 35 min. then the final long run, which this week is 41 minutes. I'm on week 6 of the 10 week program. I'm excited that I'm actually still doing it. My pants are falling off of me, but my scale still hasn't moved much. I think I need to, No... I KNOW I need to supplement some weight training, but honestly, I hate it. I need to wrap my mind around that fact that that's what I need to do to move that scale. Oh well.... Til next time... GET OUTDOORS!
